 Internship



The aim of the 30 days obligatory internship is reinforcing the theoretical knowledge and experience of the students of Istanbul Gelisim University during their education in field of related workplace.


Internship Period: 
  • Internships at the School of Applied Sciences are carried out without dividing 30 business days in the summer months following the fourth semester at the earliest, excluding the Department of Gastronomy, Restoration and Conservation. In the Department of Gastronomy, internships have at least 20 jobs in the summer following the second semester.
  • It is divided into two or three equal parts as a total of 60 working days. In the Restoration and Conservation Department, internships are divided into two equal parts as 20 working days in the summer months following the fourth semester, and they are done as 40 working days in total.
  • Normal education students who do not have to attend the classes they enrolled in they can also do it within the academic year.
  • In the Internship Programs, one week is accepted as five working days. Workplaces that work on Saturday are accepted as working days on Saturday. Official and religious holidays are not accepted as working days.
  • Summer internships start from the last day of the final exams of the spring semester. The students who will take the make-up exams and take the courses in the summer education program are under the responsibility of the student to attend the courses, to continue the exam and internship. Any excuse of the student does not eliminate these obligations.
  • Internships are completed without interruption for the specified periods. Disease reports up to five working days and absences up to three working days approved by the workplace internship officer are considered as excuses.
  • A student who does not attend his / her internship at least nine working days with or without excuse is deemed to have done no internship at all.
  • Excused / unexcused absence period is added to the working day internship period. In this case additional insurance is made for the missing days upon the application of the student. If the student or the internship does not report this situation, the responsibility belongs to them.
  • For the student who extends the determined internship period on demand, no additional insurance transactions are made.
  • Students who do not have an internship requirement in their education plans cannot apply to do an optional internship.
Principles to be followed in the delivery of internship documents:
 
  • Internship forms will be filled in computer format and as three copies.
  • In three copies to be approved for student affairs, the department or program chair must have a signature.
  • When submitting the forms to student affairs, one copy of the identity card should be attached.
  • Forms must be approved for student affairs seven days before the internship start date.
  • Students who do not get their forms approved in time will not have their internship entries.
